I believe that we are our best selves when who we are aligns with how we show up. My life decisions, daily choices and personal and professional fulfillment are grounded in knowing my core values. Those principles have given me the ability to define my priorities and guide my decision making.
For more than two decades, I’ve helped everyone from CEOs and senior leaders to emerging professionals and career seekers, identify and shape the stories they want to tell, both to themselves and others, and helped them recognize their strengths and play to them.
Prior to helping my clients find and tell their stories, I was a storyteller myself, first as a contributing sports columnist for The Sporting News and BET.com, and later as a beat writer for the Chicago Sun Times. I’ve also had my work published in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, USA Today and on MSNBC.com.
A native of Washington D.C., I’ve called the city of Chicago my home since the late Nineties. My world centers on my wife and two girls. When I’m not focused on family, chances are you can find me at a concert, on the tennis court, strumming a guitar (not well!), watching a show or movie, or reading a memoir.
I have a degree in English Literature from Washington University in St. Louis.
